Usher stated that he, JAY-Z, Diddy and Pharrell were planning to start a group

During an interview with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Usher said that he, Jay-Z, Diddy and Pharrell Williams were planning to create a super group and even went so far as to discuss the business side of it, which unfortunately never came to fruition because each of them was busy with other projects.

“JAY-Z, Pharrell, Diddy and I were supposed to be a group. We talked about it often, we had several secret meetings about it. We talked about both the type of music we would make and the business part, but we were all busy with other things and we couldn’t finish it, even though I really wanted it to happen.”

Usher will headline the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, which will be held on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, and said that it was JAY-Z, who helped the NFL produce the final four performances of the Super Bowl halftime show as a consultant to the league, to give him the happy news.
