Joni Mitchell will perform on the Grammy stage for the first time in her legendary career during the 2024 awards ceremony, taking place on Sunday, February 4 in Los Angeles.
The one who is in the running for the best folk album for Joni Mitchell at Newport previously received the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. However, Joni Mitchell has never performed live at the Grammy Awards ceremony, until now.

She first made a surprise appearance at the Newport Folk Festival in 2022 after a twenty-year absence before making her official return to the Echoes Through the Canyon festival in June 2023; she also performed at a Gershwin Prize concert in his honor and was a guest at Brandi Carlile’s concerts at the Hollywood Bowl.
The music legend joins an all-star group at the Grammy Awards that includes Dua Lipa, Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, Luke Combs, Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo and Billy Joel, who returns to the gala for the first time in more than 20 years. U2 will also perform live from their residency at Sphere in Las Vegas.
Joni Mitchell has won nine Grammys, with her first trophy coming in 1969 for Best Folk Performance for Clouds. His last Grammy was in 2022, when Joni Mitchell Archives – Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967) was named best historical album.
The show premieres Sunday, February 4 on CBS and Paramount Plus. Trevor Noah will once again host the Grammys, for the fourth year in a row.
