Justin Timberlake has released a first single from his upcoming album, “ Everything I Thought It Was », which will be released on March 15.
After Justin Timberlake presented his new song “ Selfish » last weekend during an intimate concert in Memphis, the singer has now released the video for the first single from his upcoming album Everything I Thought It Was.
During an interview on Apple Music coinciding with the release of the single, the singer said of the track: “ We were talking about the song itself and how you don’t often hear men express emotion that makes them vulnerable. And then, growing up the way I did, we’re taught not to do it. But I don’t know, I felt like it was a really honest song. The words started coming out honestly. And when I listened to the whole album, I felt like it was probably, of all the songs on the album, production-wise, probably the simplest. Well, not simple, because it is complex in its simplicity for me. »
“ Selfish » was co-written by Timberlake, Louis Bell, Cirkut, Theron Thomas and Amy Allen, and produced by JT, Bell and Cirkut.
In addition to the video, Timberlake also clarified the release date of Everything I Thought It Was: the album, his first since Man of the Woods in 2018, will arrive on March 15 via RCA. The album is available for pre-order now in a variety of formats, including a Timberlake Store-exclusive release featuring postcards, photos, a 20-page booklet, and pressed on double clear vinyl. While Justin Timberlake didn’t reveal the album’s tracklist, he did say it would feature 18 songs, selected from more than 100 songs he worked on during recording.
