The winning group of Grammy Award for Artistic Career (2021)Talking Heads, announced the restoration of the music documentary Stop Making Sense, originally directed by Jonathan Demme (The silence of the inocents).
In 1983, Talking Heads was presented at the Hollywood Pantages Theater and it became one of the best filmed concerts in history. This 2023 it will be relaunched with the production company A24 in 4K format.
Stop Making Sense It is a commitment to present a concert in an unconventional way. The film begins with David Byrne on an empty stage, in which the musician begins to perform the hit “Psycho Killer”, dressed in a gray suit that became a reference for the presentation. During the songs, the members of Talking Heads They join the stage, while the lights play in the shots that were obtained with seven cameras in December 1983.
The presentations, which were recorded for the making of the film Stop Making Sense, are part of the tour of the disk Speaking In Tongues of Talking Heads. In these presentations, topics such as ““Burning Down The House”, “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” and “Once In A Lifetime.” Subsequently, Stop Making Sense It became the title of the group’s sixth album.
The restored film will be released in theaters later this year under A24 (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Whale), the multi-award-winning production house that acquired the rights to it.

But that is not all!
Well, starting January 27 of this year (2024), this innovative film will return to some theaters and will have monthly screenings after its re-release in 4K. Also, if you liked it a lot Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense you can take it home, because there will be an edition Blu-ray of collector.

In addition to this, in August of last year the Talking Heads they released a version deluxe of the soundtrack of Stop Making Sense with remastered audio and two unreleased songs: “Cities” and “Big Business / I Zimbra”. And the following month, the band reunited with the screening of Toronto International Film Festival of the film, which they followed with an appearance in Late Show with Stephen Colbert .
Recently A24 shared a preview of the tribute album to Stop Making Sense which will include a version of “Burning Down the House” of Paramore. As well as 15 more artists who have not yet been announced. All that’s left is to wait for the new gem and see this new trailer.
