As its title indicates, the text of the song refers to the Roswell incident of 1947. According to the official version, it was a military weather balloon, but some rumors suggest an extra-terrestrial vessel. “It’s a wonderful story” enthuses Biff Byford, singer of the group. “It’s been years (she’s been unleashing passions) and that’s what the song says: there must be something in Roswell because there’s always a mystery around it. » Concerning the musical aspect, he declares: “I like the song, it’s reminiscent of Saxon from the 80s, it makes the link between the classic “Dallas 1PM” (1980) and what we do today. »

“There’s Something In Roswell” is from Hell, Fire And Damnation, the first album of Saxon recorded with Brian Tatler on guitar. The latter replaces founding member Paul Quinn, who withdrew from the group in 2022. The release of the record is scheduled for this Friday, January 19. The title track has already been revealed.

The French public will be able to see the group again in this form, as well as possible new pieces, during the next visit of the British, who will accompany Judas Priest on April 5 at the Halle Tony Garnier (Lyon) and on the 8 at the Zénith Paris – La Villette. Places are available.
