As we know, in Mexico violence against women is constant in various spaces and areas. Although these facts have been lightly addressed by the authorities, within the music industry there is twice as much to do. And the fight belongs to everyone to achieve true change.
Therefore, recently in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the collective has been created Women and Diversities Against Violence in the Music Industrywhere various artists, teachers, students, event organizers, representatives and groups of women and diversities participate to support the music scene of this state, because the authorities’ strategy for gender equality is insufficient.
Thus, through instagram They make this cause known to us; making visible the insecurity they experience and calling on producers, musicians, forums, teachers, audio engineers, promoters, among others, to stop all acts of gender violence.

Furthermore, to inform us well about this situation, they share with us a first document where they make a direct call to the main authorities of Jalisco so that we can “address the problem from the root, actively working to change the structures that perpetuate discrimination and gender violence.” Therefore, we invite you to understand the problem in depth:
