Billboard has published a list of the highest-grossing concert films in cinema history. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, they’re all there!
Concert films are an opportunity for the audiences of certain stars to attend a tour and discover what goes on behind the scenes without leaving their city or country of origin. Often successful, these productions are an important source of income for artists, in addition to expanding their communities.
The media Billboard has released a ranking of the 10 highest-grossing box office concert films of all time, and the top spot is no surprise at all.
10. âGlee: The 3D Concert Movie,â 2011
The musical TV series âGleeâ broadcast between 2009 and 2015 was able to create a significant fanbase. Viewed millions of times, the program was presented in two musical tours in 2010 and 2011. It was during this last American tour that the images for âGlee: The 3D Concert Movieâ were filmed.
With a hefty result of 11.9 million dollars, the gang of Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Dianna Aggron is placed in 10th place in this ranking.

9. âMadonna: Truth or Dare,â 1991
In 1990, the Queen of Pop began a world tour. Initially planned to be a classic concert film, âTruth or Dareâ will evolve into a documentary focusing on the behind-the-scenes of this tour. Director Alek Kesishian revealed that he was fascinated by the excitement behind the artist’s concerts.
Although criticized, the film still achieved the feat of being placed in 9th place in the ranking.

8. âJonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience,â 2009

An event tour which brings together Billy-Ray Cyrus – the singer’s father – but also the Jonas Brothers, who take care of the interlude of the concerts, no less!
