Charley Crockett and Willie Nelson release a duet

Music news

Charley Crockett and Willie Nelson wonder about “ what makes the world go round » in a new duet.

When Willie Nelson asks you if you have any songs he could sing on, you should always say “yes.” That’s the lesson taught by Charley Crockett, who sings a duet with Nelson on the new collaboration ” That’s What Makes the World Go Around “.

According to Crockett, the Red Headed Stranger was recording at his Pedernales Recording Studio in Spicewood, Texas, and wanted to record a new song. “ I told him I had plenty ” Crockett said in a statement, adding that he hung up, went to his producer and began writing furiously. “ We sent them to Spicewood where (Nelson) sang on one of them the very next day. When I heard him sing his first phrase, I shed a tear. Then, to the sound of his Trigger guitar, I cried! »

That’s What Makes the World Go Around ” is the definition of classic country, with a driving beat, drawling vocals and lyrics about a woman with a wandering mind.

Charley Crockett is gearing up for a busy 2024, with concerts across the US and Australia. Nelson recently celebrated his 90th birthday with the release of a concert recording including performances with Keith Richards, Billy Strings and Neil Young.
