The singles and albums chart is a condensation of new wave, rockabilly, dance and ska. Many historical pieces that have left an indelible mark on the history of life. At the top of the album and single charts is the same band: JOY DIVISION.

The Manchester band was at the top of the album charts with “Closer” the posthumous album and with the single, Love Will Tear Us Apart, album and single released after the suicide death of band leader Ian Curtis on May 18, 1980.

Behind Joy Division in singles: Paul Weller’s The Jam and The Beat, while among the albums at number two Elvis Costello and The Beat.

To celebrate those years we have compiled a playlist with the fifty singles.
