Bobby Keys, known for having been the saxophonist of The Rolling Stones, unveils an unexpected album, which surprises as much by its creative quality as its sound.

Certainly Bobby Keys, saxophonist with a rock sound par excellence, arriving from his native Texas with weapons and saxos in Europe, found work with the Rolling Stones in 1971 on Sticky Fingers and the tour that followed, where he performed the unforgettable solo on tenor sax from “Brown Sugar” before becoming friends with Keith Richards during the recording of Exile on Main St. two years later. At the same time, before his death in 2014, he led a rich career as a studio and stage musician, playing notably with BB King, The Who, John Lennon, Eric Clapton and George Harrison.

As for the story of this lost album which, finally, is made official to take its place in the saxophonist’s short solo discography, it finds its origin somewhere in Jamaica while the Stones were on vacation in Kingston to record Goats Head Soup, in 1973. Bobby Keys takes the opportunity to launch into this rock record based on tenor sax covers, but not only, and summons, under the leadership of producer Clive Hunt, a few friends, his colleague with the Glimmer Twins, Nicky Hopkins, a Stone in progress. hires, Ronnie Wood, but also the legendary Stax guitarist, Steve Cropper.
