Concert review: CALCUTTA the essentiality of his musical relaxation (Info and Schedule)

Music news

Penultimate date, this evening at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, of the winter leg of the Relax Tour in Calcutta.

The Latina singer-songwriter presents himself at the Forum, as he says, “recovering”, after the flu that hit him in recent days. Maybe the paracetamol worked!

A lean and essential concert. An hour and a half, no more, no less, where Calcutta showcased the essence of its music and its anti-star nature par excellence.

Something different than the gargantuan musical binges that have characterized the Christmas Forum in recent days (the over three hours of Elisa and the roundup of Drillionaire guests).

Edoardo D’Erme (his real name) is not all that!

No special effects, a stage with three monitors, almost always off, six totems and a sort of central LED curtain which at times filtered Calcutta itself from the audience, no useless guests, few words other than the presentation of the various songs and a few joke and thanks, but only music, played by a virtuoso band of six members (Francesca Palamidessi – backing vocals, guitar and keyboards, Alberto Paone – drums, Giovanni De Sanctis – bass, synth bass and backing vocals, Frankie Bellani – keyboards, synthesizers, backing vocals, Paolo Carlini – guitars and Gaetano Scognamiglio – keyboards, guitar, backing vocals), and then one more element: the audience.

The audience itself (double sold out) was perhaps the fundamental discriminating factor. He sang all the songs, from first to last, often leaving Calcutta as a spectator and listener to his fan base.

The set was a mix of his melancholy songs from three of his four albums.
He did everything “Mainstream” and his latest “Relax” (read the review), almost everything “Evergreen” but he didn’t propose anything about his first album “Maybe …”.

This is Calcutta and this is its music, take it or leave it…

We repeat tomorrow evening and then everyone is on holiday until this summer’s tour!
