In a new complaint, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the cockpit of a helicopter after she was ” attracted » in the vehicle by the musician’s private pilot. In the complaint filed Friday in Los Angeles, the anonymous accuser claims Lee sexually assaulted her during the 40-minute trip from San Diego County to Van Nuys, Calif., in February 2003.

The file, obtained by WECB, says the woman met the pilot, identified as David Martz, in early 2002 while he was attending the San Diego bank where she worked as a teller. They became friends and met occasionally for lunch. Mr. Martz invited the woman to ride in his helicopter, but she was initially hesitant, before accepting in early 2003. She met Martz at an airfield for what she thought would be a sightseeing trip to San Diego County , she says. When she arrived, there was a last-minute change: she and Martz were going to take Tommy Lee to Los Angeles instead.

“ A few minutes after takeoff, Mr. Martz took out the alcohol he had stored in the helicopter and began mixing drinks., according to the complaint. The woman claims Martz handed her a drink that she did not consume, and that Martz and Lee drank, smoked marijuana and snorted cocaine during the flight. At one point, Martz asked her through the helicopter’s headset system why she wasn’t drinking and told her she should ” just relax ”, according to the lawsuit’s allegations.

According to the woman, Martz ordered her to sit on Lee’s lap to get the best view. Feeling a “ immense pressure », she would have accepted, and that is when the attack would have taken place.

The plaintiff said she had no contact with Martz for several years, but spoke to him by phone in June 2009 when he called to check on her. The conversation was very brief, and then Martz died in a Cessna crash in August 2015, according to the filing.

The woman claims the alleged assault caused her “ great shock, distress, humiliation, shame and guilt » and that she did not report it because she thought it was an isolated event and that the police would not take it seriously. She now believes that Martz and Lee ” used to engage in indecent and illegal acts on Martz’s helicopter “.

A representative for Tommy Lee did not respond to requests for comment.

This is not the first time Martz has been accused of driving under the influence of alcohol. L’Associated Press reported in 2009 that the pilot was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after flying too close to a police helicopter and failing to follow instructions given by the airport control tower in Van Nuys. He was released after an inconclusive sobriety test.

After Martz’s death in 2015, the Los Angeles Times revealed that he had lost his pilot’s license three times in the past.
