Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have recorded new versions of ” The Masterplan ” And ” Going Nowhere ”, which became an integral part of their live set.
Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds set up at Abbey Road to re-record two Oasis songs, “ The Masterplan ” And ” Going Nowhere “.
These two songs were originally featured on Oasis’ 1998 collection of B-sides, The Masterplan, which was reissued to mark its 25th anniversary earlier this year. They are also a staple in the band’s live set, so the Abbey Road Sessions gave the band the opportunity to record their versions for posterity.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have had a very busy year following the release of their fourth album, Council Skies, in June. The band have spent much of 2023 touring to promote the album and are set to perform a series of concerts in the UK on December 14.
In June, Gallagher gave a lengthy interview to the podcast WECB Music Nowduring which he talked about co-writing three songs with the Black Keys for their upcoming album (“ We spent a week in the studio in London… And I have to tell you, they are incredible “) and the plethora of music he wrote for himself during the pandemic.
“ There is also an acoustic album, very, very stripped down, that I started recording recently. And then there’s a stadium rock album, with lots of guitars. »
And, as always, Gallagher spoke of the still possible, but still very unlikely, reunion of Oasis. He blamed his brother Liam, saying: “ I said if Liam really wanted to do it, he should call me, and he hasn’t called me, so I guess he doesn’t want to either. »
