Sting: Sting Gallery

Music news

The infernal jukebox of former policeman Sting will once again hit the mark when he comes to the Accor Arena (Paris) on December 3.

Can we still be surprised by someone we have been “dating” since we were 15 – and on stage since… a little less – when the inversion of these two figures in terms of years is moving away from us? turn more and more inexorably? Micro headband to be completely free of your movements, sharp as ever, light gray T-shirt moth-eaten to the point that you would have reason to worry about your real chances of completing this new part of the My Songs tour, Sting will have been quick to answer the question with a frank and massive yes, the triple opening salvo “Message In a Bottle” / “Englishman In New York” / “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” obviously not being there not foreign.

Of course, because he has been so good at offering us more ambitious sets in the past, we might be somewhat reluctant to stick almost exclusively to a series of hits which, it is true, overflow from his personal bag. Except for this detail that when this succession becomes a hammering activator of memories in disarray, the slightest reluctance goes up in smoke. Even the “intrusion” of a Shaggy on “Walking On the Moon” and “So Lonely” (with insert of “No Woman No Cry” by Bob Marley) will have found favor in our eyes, which was not won in advance… Unless this was the consequence of the spell caused by the guitar of the faithful Dominic Miller, hovering over the proceedings throughout. How fragile we are…
