Nile Rodgers, the icon of funk and disco music will arrive in Italy for a single date in Perugia on July 20th at Umbria Jazz.

Nile Rodgers American singer-songwriter, composer, producer, arranger and guitarist who has written and produced masterpieces that are still memorable from the 70s to today.

As co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that spawned chart-topping hits like “Le Freak,” the best-selling single in Atlantic Records history, sparking the advent of hip-hop with “Good Times”.

His work in the CHIC Organization, including “We Are Family” with Sister Sledge and “I’m Coming Out” with Diana Ross and his productions for artists such as David Bowie (“Let’s Dance”), Madonna (“Like A Virgin ”) and Duran Duran (“The Reflex”) have sold over 500 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide, while his innovative and trendsetting collaborations with Daft Punk (“Get Lucky”), Daddy Yankee ( “Agua”) and BeyoncĂ© (“Cuff It”) make him the undisputed genius of funk, soul and pop music.
