Porno for Pyros swims with dolphins on “Agua”

Porno for Pyros releases its first new song in 26 years with “ Water “.

While Porno for Pyros has just rescheduled its first tour in 25 years, the group gathered around Perry Farrell released “ Water », his first new song in 26 years.

The track, which the band worked on during rehearsals for the postponed reunion tour (now farewell tour), was inspired by encounters the band had with dolphins while surfing in the 1990s, calling it ” Water » of « ode to the sea and all its beautiful creatures “.

Porno for Pyros has therefore joined forces with the Surfrider Foundation, which campaigns for the protection of the oceans, for the release of “ Water “. “ People who live here on the West Coast have a love and passion for the Pacific OceanFarrell said in a statement. The ocean doesn’t look good, doesn’t feel good, doesn’t surf good. You go swimming in it and you get goosebumps. The sunsets are different. We are really ruining everything. We must do something. I wanted to bring attention to this issue using the best megaphone I know, which is music. »

Water » is the first new song from Porno for Pyros since « Hard Charger » appeared on the film’s soundtrack Private parts by Howard Stern. It’s also the first look at the band’s third album and the long-awaited follow-up to Good God’s Urge (1996).

Porno for Pyros, which brings together Farrell and Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, as well as guitarist Peter DiStefano and bassist Martyn LeNoble, will begin its farewell tour starting in February 2024.
