Samantha Hudson lands at La Riviera in Madrid with ‘AOVE Black Label’: “With this tour I feel more in the role of a musical artist”

Music news

Samantha Hudson is more than ready to resume the tour EVOO Black Label where he left it. After performing in Seville and Granada last October and winning an MTV EMAs for Best Spanish Artist at the beginning of November—above names like Lola Índigo, Quevedo, Abraham Mateo and Álvaro de Luna—, The singer returns to the stage today.

He will do it in the emblematic La Riviera room in Madrid, with capacity for 2,000 people, to show us a new show, with which has made a leap in quality, both in technical and musical production, compared to its past shows. This is what he told us during his visit to the WECB studios, where he chatted for a while with this house about his music, the mainstream, his tour and much more.

In three words, Samantha defines her tour as “Electronic cathartic liturgy.” And he explained that “it is perhaps the most professional project I have ever faced. There is a concept behind it; there were many meetings; I have had two choreographers, who are Estíbaliz Mardones and Cristian González; a collective from Barcelona called Oscila, which did the lighting design. Then, Parafeno, who is a 3D artist, who made the cover of the vinyl that I just released and the visuals as well. So, It is a concert, but also a quite accomplished and well-worked show. You always have to go upgrade, level up“.

Likewise, with this series of concerts he feels much more like a musical artist than a performance artist. As for the musical factor, he feels that his previous works “had a bit of a relationship with varietés and with that theater of the grotesque… And now I am a concert artist.”

Regarding doing shows in small venues, she states that she is “comfortable in this situation”, although she does not rule out – if it were to happen one day – being able to perform in larger venues. “I feel that all these rooms, with these capacities (with 2,000 people, which is said soon), still retain that closeness, that proximity. It gives me the feeling that you see the artist better, right? AlsoThere is at least a lot of detail in the show, in the choreography, which is a contemporary dance, Martian, etc., so La Riviera is a good room to see EVOO Black Label,” he says.

As if this were not enough, she herself has stated through her social networks that there will be a very special guest artist who will also be a surprise.
