AC/DC fans want the band to be number one for Christmas

AC/DC fans are launching a campaign to get their favorite band a number one this Christmas.

AC/DC fans have launched a new campaign to try to get the rock icons to number one for Christmas 2023.

This new campaign comes ten years after fans joined forces in 2013 to try to place “ Highway To Hell » at the top of the Christmas ranking, to mark the group’s 40th anniversary.

Although it did not reach number one at the time, the social media campaign (created on the AC/DC We Salute You Facebook page) helped the 1979 hit reach number four, becoming thus the group’s very first single to rank in the Top 10 in the United Kingdom.

Today, fans are aiming for first place again: “ In 2013, we all came together to celebrate 40 years of AC/DC by giving them their highest ever UK Singles Chart… ‘Highway To Hell’ in fourth place. We’ll pick another title and see if we can win three spots for their 50th anniversary. Are you up for it? If so, join this group and invite everyone. »

Although the song to support has not yet been chosen, fans have suggested that “ Back in Black “, ” Thunderstruck ” And ” Mistress For Christmas » could be good candidates.

AC/DC reformed last month to perform its first concert in seven years, reuniting with frontman Brian Johnson for the first time since leaving the group in 2016 due to hearing loss. They met at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California, as part of a lineup that also included Judas Priest, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Iron Maiden and Metallica.
