It will be part of his new musical project.
Math Math, Trio originally from Hermosillo and Mexico City, released their most recent single “Mantis” co-produced and mixed by Nick Leon. This song is accompanied by a video clip directed by Alexandra Washington.
“Mantis” presents itself in its own way as experimental electronica with dark reggaeton, all this having as its central floor the voices of Angel Ballesteros.
It is a symphony to entomology, which explores the desire and predatory passion that exists in a praying mantis. The green memories of him where he seems to be praying, and his chance encounters with his peers that are forgotten in yesteryear. His lips and jaws kiss the triangular head of his victim, and partner, next to the body he left headless. His rapacious legs ready to bury themselves again in a thorax that seeks to escape from that ritualistic dance that blurs the line between death and sex. “Insects like these don’t see in the dark, but they open their antennae: sensory artifacts that detect a cloud of pheromones that invite them to one last act of pleasure,” the trio explained in a press release.
As demonstrated by his video clip where we see Angel Ballesterosvocalist, falling into an alternative reality turned into “Mantis”. This project aims to be the first installment of something much larger that the artists are preparing and that they hope will see the light of day at the beginning of next year 2024.
Meth Math has made its own lane and path by fusing electronic and urban genres and creating an interesting and different symbiosis between artists and collaborators in musical production such as Error.Error and Bonsai Babies. This own aesthetic has led them to collaborate with contemporary artists such as Sega Winery, Machine Girl, Denmark, Blue Red and more.
Last year Meth Math had the opportunity to perform at the iconic Boiler Room from New York City, which was curated by Shayne Oliver (Anonymous Club, Hood By Air) sharing the stage with artists like Bladee, Ecco2k, Denis Sulta, Young MA, Derrick Carter, Galcher Lustwerk, between many more.
With this release the trio is preparing for a tour that will take place in Asia, more specifically in Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan in November and then return to give a show in the United States in the Art Basel in Miami with the renowned producer Nick Leon.
