He is finally back! Ed Sheeran reveals the surprising “Azizam”, a rhythmic title with Persian influences. Quickly discover this song that prepares the release of his new album “Play”.

For his comeback, Ed Sheeran takes us on an unprecedented musical journey! This Friday, April 4, the British artist reveals his new single, “Azizam”, a real surprise for his fans. This title, which means “my darling/my darling” or “my beloved/my beloved” in Persian, marks the first taste of his next album, “Play”.

An unexpected musical meeting

“Azizam” was born out of a fascinating collaboration between Ed Sheeran and the Swedish-Iranian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh (known for her work with Ariana Grande among others). Together, they explored the similarities between Persian and Irish folk music, and merged this influences into pop rhythms.

“Azizam” announces the imminent release of the album “Play”, whose details will be unveiled soon. Fans are impatient to discover the new sounds and collaborations that the artist has in store for them.

After his series of albums inspired by mathematical symbols (“+”, “X”, “÷”, “-” and “=”), the singer begins a new phase of his career. His next project, “Play”, will mark the start of a series of opus inspired by audio reading orders: “Pause”, “Fast Forward”, “Rewind” and “Stop”.
