ZZ Top, Rock in hair

Music news

ZZ Top exceeds 50 years of career and its standards continue to hit the foot. Back on the career of a group in hair.

Trio disproportionately hair with a style as sharpened as their beards, Zz Top has been shaking the little world of southern rock for almost fifty years. Doubted by none other than Jimi Hendrix, who designated Billy Gibbons as the “best young guitarist” from the United States from 1968, they were spotted at the Country Blues Festival in Memphis in the early 1970s. Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard joined the big album in 1973 with the third album, Very hombres, the inimitable riff of “the barn” propelling the three Texans at the top of the charts.

80s oblige, they multiply the electronic sound effects on El loco (1981) and ranked once again in the top 50. Two years later, Zz Top released the emblematic album of his career, the aptly named Eliminator. Having become MTV icons, they have never stopped since.

On tour all summer, they will go through the American Tours Festival in July before storming Germany and then Eastern Europe.
