Interviewed by the editorial staff in 2021, he also mentioned the bluesmen who have influenced him in recent years: “I like musicians who play the devil’s music, like black American bluesmen did in the early 60s in juke joints. I have a certain feeling with guys like Popa Chubby who, in my opinion, continues this tradition. Stevie Ray Vaughan was a virtuoso in this register. He already embodied “the devil’s music” in his guitar playing. But the king of kings is Ry Cooder. He is an exceptional musician, a great songwriter and above all he is an immense slideman, the best of us without a doubt. On stage, Ry Cooder releases a vibration of emotions on the slide that is still unequaled today. I am a big fan. »
