Marianne Faithfull, British singer and actress, died at the age of 78, as confirmed by her spokesperson at the BBC.

Born in London in 1946, Faithfull reached fame in the 1960s with the hit “As Tears Go By”, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Her relationship with Jagger made it a central figure in the music scene of the time.

Despite a career marked by ups and downs, he continued to perform and record music until the last few years. His distinctive voice and his scenic presence have left an indelible imprint in the international music scene.

His latest album dates back to 2021, “She Walks in Beauty”, this was the title, was made together with Warren Ellis and was a tribute to English romantic poetry, passion born in the years spent at the St Joseph's Convent School.

A unique album that contains music and poetry with Marianne Faithfull accompanied by Warren Ellis and with the participation of Nick Cave, Brian Eno and Vincent Ségal.
