Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran… In 2024, artists from all musical genres have relaunched the ritual of the Christmas song.
What recent Christmas songs to put under the tree this year? 2024 is no exception to the rule: garlands and fir trees have once again inspired many singers and not the least. Enough to change a little from the classics “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “Last Christmas”.
Ed Sheeran – “Under the Tree”
After his song “Merry Christmas” with Elton John in 2022, Ed Sheeran presents his new Christmas song, “Under the Tree”, a poignant ballad which accompanies the animated film “That Christmas”, available on Netflix.
Lady Gaga – “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”
After performing it with Zane Lowe on Apple's “A Carpool Karaoke Christmas”, Lady Gaga surprisingly unveiled her rock and soul cover of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” on the platforms. The 1934 classic has already been covered dozens of times: the Jackson Five, Mariah Carey, the Supremes, Bruce Springsteen and even Frank Sinatra have been there.
The Jonas Brothers – “Holiday”
American TV star Jimmy Fallon has released his first original Christmas album featuring the Jonas Brothers. Entitled “Holiday Seasoning 2024”, the project also includes songs with Meghan Trainor, Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion.
Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla – “This Christmas”
Netflix subscribers were able to discover Sabrina Carpenter's “nonsense Christmas”, a musical Christmas show orchestrated by the pop star. During the show, the singer revisited Donny Hathaway's 1970 classic “This Christmas” with Tyla.
Conan Gray – “Holidays”
Pop darling Conan Gray ends his successful year with a Christmas-themed ballad called “Holidays.”
