After 2024 as a protagonist between music, television and cinema, Giorgia is preparing to return to the Sanremo Festival, where the artist will bring the song to the competition The cure for me.
A significant moment, thirty years after his victory with the iconic “Come Saprei”, which marked his consecration as one of the most elegant and powerful voices in Italian music.
Today in Milan, Giorgia met with the press to share her plans for 2025, including returning to the Sanremo Festival.
In an authentic story, the artist retraced the stages of his last year and revealed a journey made up of new collaborations, profound reflections and a tour that celebrates thirty years of his career.
HIS STORY
THE FESTIVAL
Sanremo was a chapter that I hadn't planned. A year ago, Amadeus gave me an incredible opportunity, to be its co-host.
That experience opened up a different path for me, and I started to enjoy and ride this new path. Then, being the thirtieth anniversary of an important part of my career, I found myself reflecting on that path, but without celebrating myself too much. I wanted to focus on the present and what was in front of me.From there, it was all a crescendo. I had the opportunity to present important musical evenings, like the one with the guys from Il Volo, and then I worked with the production of XFactor, an intense experience that taught me a lot.
At the same time, my musical journey continued, albeit with new balances: I dedicated myself to trying out new songs and working with a new team, the Slide team that I had wanted for a long time. I 'reset' myself, starting again from the things I really love doing.
All this led me to receive a proposal in October for a collaboration with Disney in Moana and with Ferzan Özpetek who asked me for a song for the soundtrack of his new film, “Diamanti”.Sanremo is good for me and can do good even if you don't win!
THE SONG
In this “new” period “The cure for me” has arrived. It is an important song that requires a lot, even vocally, but which gives enormous satisfaction.
It moved me immediately, and for me this is the strongest signal: if it moves me, I know it can reach others too.
There is a sincerity to this piece that I believe is rare and precious. It talks about true feelings, growth and moments of comparison with oneself.I wanted it to be a piece that also represented change, evolution. It wasn't easy to find the right words, because today I feel a different responsibility in the way I tell and share emotions. But the result makes me feel that it is a song that will leave its mark.
The song is written by Blanco and Michelangelo and produced by Michelangelo. It's a text that I feel is very mine even though I put little of myself into it and Blanco put in the rest.
It is a song that can be for both women and men. I would have liked to write it myself as it is so beautiful! In the musical part I found harmonies and a much more classic melody than I would have expected, especially from two kids of their age.
This song contains both sides of me: what I am and what I would like to be!
THE NEW GIORGIA
In everyday life, I try to find balance between commitments and moments for myself. The simplest things, like staying at home, taking care of plants or cooking, give me a sense of peace.
As the years went by, I learned to be more authentic. I no longer try to please others at all costs, but I focus on what makes me feel good and what is true for me. Being a mother has taught me a lot, especially how to relate to the new generations, who have a different, more direct and immediate sensitivity.
Today I feel more aware and I want to bring this authenticity into my music too. It is a continuous journey, an attempt to be true, always. I don't know where it will take me, but I know that I want to live it with an open heart, ready to learn and grow.”
