PSALMO E NOYZ NARCOS: this album of ours is a true cult!

Music news

“CVLT” is the title of the joint album by SALMO and NOYZ NARCOS out on Friday 3 November 2023.

The album is a manifesto of what has always characterized the production of the two rappers. A well-defined imagery, which draws heavily from rap, hip hop, cinema – from classics such as “Blues Brothers” to the world of gore and horror – but also from their respective careers, honored on several occasions.

Always accustomed to breaking down the connotations of the scene, with the CVLT album, Salmo & Noyz Narcos form a fiery alliance, in which their differences and affinities mix, giving life to a project that honors the styles of both and at the same time it leaves room for experimentation.

Rap is at the center of a 15-track long journey and in “CVLT” it finds space through different declinations, without ever moving away from the original matrix. The album reflects the personalities of Salmo & Noyz Narcos 100%.

The two rappers told us about the genesis of the album, here are the highlights of the collaborative project.

THE GENESIS

This album together is something we’ve been planning for years. Since we met, we immediately liked each other, respected each other and we always talked and hypothesized about doing something together. Now, after ten years of knowing each other, the right time has come and here is “CVLT”.

HORROR

The horror myth is something and a passion that binds us on an imaginary level.
I was traumatized as a child by the Notte Horror program – explains Salmo – it was truly a cult for lovers of the genre.
The desire for Horror is only the result of the time in which I grew up – underlines Noyz – and the whole album project develops from here.

THE TITLE

The title of the album was already written. The word “cult” is part of our vocabulary. We kept saying it for different references. It kept going around until we realized and this record is such a cult, there was no better way to call it.

We put the V instead of the U just to be found on Google faster (they laugh…).

THE GUESTS

At the productions we find (in order of appearance) Luciennn, Salmo himself, Sine and Ford78. A limited core, specifically chosen because it is capable of giving life to the ideal sound carpet for the pens of the two rappers. There are also few collaborations, also chosen by virtue of their ability to immerse themselves in an imaginary world
well outlined: Marracash, Kid Yugi, Coez and Frah Quintale.

A TOUR

We are working for two events: one in Rome and one in Milan but we can’t spoil anything yet!

THE SHORT

The album was announced with a special short, written and directed by Dario Argento, released exclusively on Prime Video.

And the two rappers, together with the Master of Thrills, were the protagonists of a meeting with the public at the eighteenth edition of the Rome Film Festival.

THE SYNOPSIS

Produced by Think Cattleya and Maestro, the short film sees Dario Argento, undisputed cinema icon, writing and directing – supported by the duo YouNuts! -, as well as the actor of a real horror story in which Salmo and Noyz Narcos are the protagonists.

Welcomed late at night by the director in a ghostly villa inhabited by disturbing individuals and sinister props that recall Argento’s great masterpieces, the two rappers will soon realize that they have fallen into a trap that will leave them no escape.

THE FORMATS

The album is available for pre-order at this link in the standard CD versions (signed version exclusive to Sony Music Store), deluxe CD (signed version exclusive to Amazon), gray vinyl (signed version exclusive to Amazon already sold out), transparent vinyl ( signed version exclusively on Amazon already sold out), red vinyl, purple vinyl (signed version exclusively on Sony Music Store).
