Father John Misty to celebrate 10 years of “I Love You, Honeybear”

Music news

The remastered edition of Father John Misty's second album will be released on Valentine's Day and will include a cover of ” Heart-Shaped Box » by Nirvana.

Father John Misty will celebrate the 10th anniversary of I Love You, Honeybear with a new edition, which will be released on February 14 by Sub Pop.

The second album by the artist, real name Josh Tillman, evokes his meeting with his wife, the filmmaker-photographer Emma Tillman, and his love for her. The album was very well received and allowed the singer-songwriter to become known to the general public.

The anniversary edition of the album will be released in limited edition « Loser » on pearly red vinyl, while a pressing « Coke Bottle Clear » will be available in Canada. The reissue will be released as a 33 rpm single, while the original was only available as a double. When the album was released in 2015, Sub Pop explained the decision: “ While we all prefer the listening experience on a single vinyl, in this case we decided to prioritize audio quality (which is admittedly very subjective). It was nothing ! »

Alongside the vinyl release, a digital collection I Love You, Honeybear Demos, etc. including Tillman's cover of ” Heart-Shaped Box » by Nirvana is planned. This track was recorded for SiriusXM and Father John Misty performed it on stage in Milwaukee in May 2015; both recordings have appeared on YouTube ever since.

Last fall, Tillman released his sixth album, Mahashmashanawhich contains the titles “ Screamland ”, seven minutes long, and “ She Cleans Up “. Last summer he released a 17-minute compilation called Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl.

Next month, Josh Tillman will embark on a North American tour, kicking off at the Signal in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 12. He will then travel to Europe, including a concert at La Cigale in Paris on April 8.
