Geddy Lee visits Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, Metallica’s Rob Trujillo as well as Melissa Auf der Maur and Les Claypool.
Geddy Lee is not only preparing for the launch of his memoir My Effin’ Life and a national tour, but also the new documentary series from Paramount Plus Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too? This four-part series will feature conversations between Lee and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, Metallica’s Rob Trujillo, Primus’ Les Claypool and Hole/Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur. The premiere is scheduled for December 5.

Lee put his music career on indefinite hold when Rush drummer Neil Peart died in 2020 from an aggressive form of brain cancer. Last year, he reunited with Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson to play some old classics at special concerts commemorating the 25th anniversary of South Park and the life of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Whatever happens in the future, Lee is confident that Rush will never try to continue without Peart. “ It’s overLee said. I’m still very proud of what we did. I don’t know what I’ll do next in music.
