Kendji Girac injured by gunshot: he talks about his accident for the first time

Music news

More honest than ever. Kendji Girac spoke to Frédéric Lopez in the show “Un Dimanche à la Campagne”, on France 2, about the shot he inflicted on his chest in April 2024.

Seven months after the accident which almost cost him his life, Kendji Girac spoke to the general public for the first time. Seriously injured by a gunshot wound to the chest, following a self-inflicted shot during a domestic dispute, the singer's life was threatened last April.

Guest in the show “Un Dimanche à la campagne”, alongside Dany Boon and Virginie Grimaldi, on France 2, this Sunday, the interpreter of “Color Gitano” spoke about this turning point in his life. “It feels weird, it's the first time I'm talking about it“, reveals Kendji Girac facing Frédéric Lopez.

After feeling obliged to do everything “cut” for months, he admits to having been able to get back on his feet fairly quickly thanks to those around him. “It was simply love that rebuilt me incredibly quickly. The love of my family, my loved ones, those around me, even the public.”

The opportunity for Kendji Girac to return to the unfailing support of his partner Soraya.“My wife gave me strength, tenderness like never before. And she was a little shocked by what was said about her because nothing was true. She is a very strong, wonderful woman, who managed to get me back on my feet.”

Kendji Girac, who unveiled his new album “Vivre” last October, seems to see the future philosophically from now on.“Life has taught me to enjoy every moment. We can learn from our mistakes and come back stronger (…). At the end of the tunnel, there is always this light that will welcome us and enlighten us forever afterwards“, concludes the singer.
