Ichiko Aoba announces album and releases “Luciférine”

The Japanese artist explores the sea and bioluminescence in her new album.

Ichiko Aoba is ready to release her long-awaited new album Luminescent Creatures on February 28, 2025 via hermine / Psychic Hotlinand. This album, a continuation of their acclaimed Windswept Adam (2020), promises to take listeners on an introspective journey through the origins of life, inspired by bioluminescence and the depths of the sea.

Aobawho has been acclaimed both in Japan and internationally, expands her musical universe with dreamlike soundscapes, connecting personal experiences with nature through her guitar and delicate voice.

The first single, “Luciferine” introduces the central theme of the album: light in darkness, as a primitive means of communication. In his letter, Ichiko Aoba invites you to imagine a world where bioluminescent creatures light the way, connecting galaxies through light. Besides, Ichiko has announced a world tour for 2025, which will include dates in North America, accompanied by the Wordless Music Quintet in some presentations.
