Shawn Mendes This Friday he shared his new album of study, Shawn. It is no coincidence that this album is named after the artist's first name. The Canadian opens up, sharing with his fans the deep dialogue that he has with himself, his demons and his most private thoughts. It is, to date, his musical work more intimate and personal.

“Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt that I had no idea who he was. A year ago I couldn't enter a studio without falling into total panic. So being here now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like a gift,” said the singer at the time of presenting his new work. “This album is about let go and remember who I am“, he added in his latest Instagram post.

A moment that he also took advantage of to thank the people who have accompanied him during this process that was so hard for him. “Sincerely, Thank God for my friends and family. “Life can be brutal, but having a small group of people you trust deeply to be there for you makes it so much better,” he added.

What will be his fifth album has a total of 12 songs in which he shows a new version of himself. Some of them had already come to light previously, such as heart of gold, Why Why WhyNobody Knows or the single with which he announced this new album, Isn't That Enough.

Mental health, your priority

The mental health has been the artist's priority during these years. In fact, during his last world tour in 2022 with the album wonder The Canadian was overwhelmed by the situation, having to reach cancel the planned dates of shows in Europe and the United States.

“I know everyone has been waiting a long time for these concerts and it breaks my heart to say this, but I promise I'll be back as soon as I have taken the right to heal“, he said at the time.
