Trans state! – Editorial by Belkacem Bahlouli

If there is an unmissable event for any music lover – and in particular young talents, it is the Rencontres Trans Musicales from Rennes. Created in 1979, this original festival, which is also in town, has seen the future of pop, rock, electronica and world music parade on its various stages. In short, all the music of the world. That the artists come from all over France, from Asia, from the Americas, from all over Europe, from Africa and even from Brittany – because the meeting also includes a number of regional musicians – each time, it is a surprise.

It must be said, the hunt for promising young talent is the specialty of this extraordinary festival. The frantic search for the headliner here has no place. We seek above all music, that which explodes the frames, that which can speak to everyone as well as to each one, which can have a particular resonance, an extremely personalized sound, in short, ecstatic and in particular… trance.

To do this, the small dishes were pulled out big, and the programming team crisscrossed the planet to its smallest nooks and crannies in search of the most original, to unearth the little pearl that will make people talk about her and give legitimacy to this meeting like no other, in order to better define the contours of what the music of tomorrow will be. And for this, the Trans as they are nicknamed, will meet you from December 4 to 8, in Rennes. Let us tell each other.
