Music news

The long-awaited return of the rapper Lil Nas Xafter two years without releasing music, took place at the beginning of 2024. The presentation theme J CHRIST I aimed to be the new one MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) of the singer. It was expected to be a tremendous prelude to a new cycle. However, media coverage scuttled the return as it was strongly criticized for resorting to controversyin this case to religious images, such as strategy marketing.

Yet, Lil Nas X has prepared the return of the comeback with the presentation of a new single that will be part of his second studio album, dreamboy. As announced, LIGHT AGAIN!a very positive and party themeis the first conceptual phase of the musical project that will see the light in 2025. Its launch has been linked to a video clipdirected by Andrew Donoho, inspired by the 2012 film, Project X. Sheathed in a top platinum, the singer breaks it at a party in a house where the only rule is that there are no rules.

“Look, society has freed me from its bonds.”he raps in the opening verses of the song. Everyone has experienced a “quiet” party that finally ends up getting out of hand. Guests getting tattoos, conversations, music… even maximum madness in a warehouse. The star expresses his escape from reality and taking advantage of every moment: “You know I have to catch my flight/You know I have to reach new heights again/You know we do it at night/You know we only have one life for this.”.

Before the official release of the theme, Lil Nas X has published on the social network x a statement about how he feels about this new creative step. “I have always tried to ensure that each song receives as much attention as possible”he explains. He talks about the fear that the world will see him as a failure, or that he will feel less than. “But this time I choose my vision. Do I hope my songs are successful? YES, but they will arrive anyway and I will support them”he concludes confidently about his next album.

dreamboy: “I'm back
 and better than ever”

Given all the controversy experienced with his return, the video teaser of his new project announces a change in his music. The collaborations in which Lil Nas X has been involved in recent months, such as I KNOW with Camila Cabelloindicate that a disc is treated with a pallet of vibrant sounds in the purest style club and dance house. The image and style of the singer in this new stage are reminiscent, due to the leather and helmet, of Motomami de RosalĂa.

Lil Nas X it was already Number 1 in the WECB Official List with MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)single from their debut album that went around the world. Among his other achievements, he has the Grammy to Best Collaboration and Best Music Video with Old Town Road (Remix)and was one of the biggest nominees in 2022 but came home with no statuette. The tour Long Live Montero was a complete success, which closed with a documentary in Max. Of course, his return has us all really expectant.
