The National Portrait Gallery premieres a six-hour ambient version of the iconic Oasis song.
Noel Gallagher has transformed its success from Oasis, “Champagne Supernova”in a six-hour ambient version that will accompany his own portrait in an exhibition called Legendswhich will open on November 29 of this year. The exhibition brings together 100 portraits of prominent figures and celebrities, captured by the British photographer Zoe Law. The new version of “Champagne Supernova”originally released in 1995 on the album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?has been modified to an immersive sound style, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a unique experience while viewing the photographs. The portrait of Gallagherwhich will be part of the gallery's permanent collection at the exhibition's close on March 2, 2025, appears alongside celebrities such as Sir Bobby Charlton, Orlando Bloom, Kim Cattrall and Sienna Miller.
“The idea of having a portrait of a grumpy middle-aged man, who frankly hates having his photo taken, put on permanent display for future generations to admire is very special,” Gallagher said, joking about his aversion to photographs.
The exhibition Legends promises to be a multi-sensory experience that combines music and art, celebrating Gallagher and other figures who have left their mark on contemporary culture.
