Lauren Mayberry premieres “Crocodile Tears”

Lauren Mayberryvocalist of the acclaimed Scottish band CHVRCHESannounced his first solo album titled Vicious Creaturescheduled to come out December 5 under Island Records. As a preview of this new stage, Mayberry released the single “Crocodile Tears”a daring and emotional song that explores catharsis and vulnerability.

Vicious Creature is inspired by dark and subversive aspects of femininity, and genres ranging from synth pop to indie rock, with visual influences from classic musicals such as Cabaret and Chicago. the song “Crocodile Tears”co-written with Matthew Koma and Ethan Gruskaallows the singer to experience a more daring narrative. With her “villainesque” character she challenges social expectations, especially those that fall on feminine kindness, releasing a more direct and raw style.

The album will include other songs that he has been releasing since 2023, such as “Something In the Air”, “Change Shapes”, “Shame”and “Are You Awake?”which explore different emotional and sonic angles of this introspective journey. The tour of Vicious Creature will begin on January 28 in San Diego and will span more than 15 US cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, ending in early March. Tickets will be available starting November 1st at Ticketmaster.
