After years of waiting and anticipation, Snoop Dogg has formalized the release of his new album, “Missionary”, entirely produced by the legendary Dr. Dre.
The album will launch on December 13, 2024 under the Death Row Records label.
To announce the project, the artist shared a short teaser video on his Instagram profile, further increasing the anticipation among fans.
Missionary represents a tribute to Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg's debut album released in 1993, also produced by Dr. Dre and considered a cornerstone of hip-hop.
Speaking about the project, as reported by pitchfork.com, Dr. Dre stated that the new album will show greater maturity in lyrics and musical production.
I feel like this is some of the best material I've made in my career,” said Dre, confirming the level of effort and passion put into this work.
Snoop Dogg's latest album, BODR (Back on Death Row), was released in February 2022 and marked his return to the historic label, starting a new artistic chapter. With Missionary, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre seem to want to carry on the tradition of Death Row Records, but with a renewed vision that combines the nostalgia of classic sounds with an artistic maturity acquired over years of experience.
