The stated aim is to “show the richness and diversity of musical successes that adopted these aesthetics,” explains Alexandre Lasch, general director of SNEP, to the editorial staff. A new classification which fits into a perspective already put in place by the organization: “We had already set up classifications with classical and jazz. We therefore wanted to show more of the successes of rock and metal in France. »

The Offspring entered the top this week, with his new album, titled SUPERCHARGED, in third place. The Art of Letting Go, Myles Kennedy's third solo album, also arrives in 23rd position. On the metal side, Cemetary Skyline, a project led by Michael Stanne, singer of Dark Tranquillity, also enters the top at 39th place.

The French public's appetite for these musical aesthetics is not only found in the sales rankings, as noted by the general director of the SNEP, noting that “Hellfest is also the biggest festival in France. »
