Islands It is contemplative music for melancholic souls. Originating from Mérida, Mexico, the transmedia musical project is made up of Ricardo Castillo on voice, guitar, programming and synthesizers; Israel Knight on the bass; Ivan Arteaga on the guitar; and Guillermo Sanchez on the battery. The band has built its style on dark atmospheres, mixing nostalgia and mysticism.
Next October 18, Islands will release the EP Firefliesa Halloween-inspired material that explores deep themes about life and death. This release includes two covers notables: “I'm looking at you” of Caiphanes and “A Forest” of The Curein addition to a live performance of their song, “Fireflies”. This work reflects the musical evolution of the band, fusing post punk with contemporary influences.
