Books: LEVANTE “Daily work” a handcrafted diary of poems, drawings and thoughts

Music news

“Daily Opera” is the title of Levante's new book, an artistic journey into the world of one of the most iconic and versatile Italian singer-songwriters in Italian music.

After 5 albums and 3 novels, this new work (published by Rizzoli) due out on November 19th is an unprecedented experiment: a sort of unique and passionate diary, the result of artisanal work, in which Levante tells in poems, drawings and thoughts the heart that beats inside every day and the moments that, like chimes, mark its time – and ultimately that of all of us.

From dawn to night, these pages are a joy for the eyes and music for the heart, a game balanced between literature and visual arts. For more than 2 years Levante cut out newspaper headlines and then mixed them, reassembled them, made them dance like lines in a poem. In this way, even the brutal news that gives us news of wars, epidemics and catastrophes every day is transformed, almost for fun, into something else: into poetry and a smile.

And the poems were accompanied by paintings, collages, thoughts, expressions of a creativity that originates in an artisanal approach and which is expressed far from the ferocious call of screens and digital technology. The result is an invitation to wonder, which through the free gesture of art gives us a remedy to silence the background noise of everyday life.
