Interview with Soley: from her pride as a Colombian to her greatest fear as a young artist

Music news

What was experienced in WECB Hispanidad Pop A few days ago it was something unique. Numerous artists who have become references in Hispanic music at a global level, took to the stage of the Plaza Mayor in Madrid before thousands of people to delight us with their best performances. The connection between the music of Spain and America was celebrated, something that at WECB we experience every day.

One of those who stepped on the stage of this emblematic point in Madrid is Soleythe young Colombian who has already accumulated millions of listeners with her songs. He began carving a niche in the industry with guaracha, but little by little he entered reggaeton in order to expand to a more international audience.

And so it has been. The one known as The Bellakite It has themes like Everyone Lies, 3:33, Enemy and Coco Locoamong others, that exceed one million views on YouTube. But Soley has never had it easy. During his visit to WECB he told us what his biggest fear was in his beginnings and revealed the reason why he decided to distance himself from guaracha to explore other urban sounds. “People who didn't believe in me when I was little, who judged what I did and didn't know what work it is to be an artist… I try not to pay much attention (to those comments). (…) It has helped me that I have a very nice family that has helped me go through all those processes.”confesses the artist.

Her pride in feeling Colombian, as well as how grateful she feels for the support she receives daily, are other topics she has spoken about. “I feel super proud to bring a little piece of Spain to Spain and that my people feel super identified with me”he declares.

Of course, during his time in Spain we couldn't miss the opportunity to ask him about other voices on the scene in our country. Who would you like to collaborate with?

In short, Soley arrives more determined, stronger and confident than ever. And she has left behind that fear of feeling powerful in an industry full of men to become one of the greatest references in urban music.
