Yung Baethe solo project of Dallas Cotton will be playing next October 25th along with Macross 82-99 in Indie Rocks Forum! (Room A). Promoting their most recent production 6AE. We were able to interview him and learn a little more about the production of his new album, creative process and collaborations.
Since its inception in 2014, Yung Bae has distinguished himself for his musical proposal through sample japanese sounds city pop from the 80s, along with a sound environment full of funk, indie, electronica and disco music. In his 10 years of career he has managed to be part of important festivals and promote his music to a very wide audience.
After eight albums, dallas returns to nostalgiafuture funk iste 2024 with his ninth full-length material, 6AE, totally self-produced.
It was like returning to my roots, in Continental Groove It was a way to try everything new, I left future funk aside, but I wanted to go back to my roots, concentrate on what I was already known for, now I have all these kinds of production techniques that I have learned over the years and now I can do what I want to do, do it very well and just take a step forward. It was a lot of fun, I did everything myself, it was a lot of fun to do samplessomething I hadn't done in a long time. Going back to the roots and finding fun ways to improve my sound.”
About collaborations, Yung Bae He decided to do them in the company of his friends to redefine his previous sound, having fun in the process while having a cup of coffee during each of the songs.
It ended up being one of my favorite records of all the ones I've done and I think some of my favorites are 'Refreshing' and 'Champagne' which is super special to me, but honestly, I love them all equally.”
Next October 25th he will be sharing the stage with Macross 82-99 and dallas remembers her first encounters with him and their collaboration in “Welcome to the disco”.
“We’ve been on tour together, I’ve known him for almost 11 years, it was just great.”
About the art behind the cover of 6AE, dallas He told us that he was trying to find a way to make everything fit together, with a way out of the Continental but, at the same time, giving a small wink towards him, where the girl on the cover is like a stewardess, accompanied in her hat with a small Corgi, being a fan of them.

Yung Bae he commented. “I've been to Mexico for festivals, but this time I feel like it will be different, much more fun, it will give me a better opportunity to connect with the fans there.
