Music news

A new vinyl edition of “Nero A Metà” by Pino Daniele.

“Nero a mezzo” – Studio Original Masters, out on November 22nd, is the reissue and a further step towards the best possible level of sound quality. In fact, a high resolution digital transfer from the original analogue tapes was used as the source, guaranteeing perfect sound quality for an album considered a true masterpiece of Italian music.

From a sonic point of view, the advantages obtained are greater clarity and better frequency response at the same time as a reduction in noise, distortion and compression; essentially the highest quality possible to allow listeners to appreciate this repertoire of songs like never before.

THE FORMATS

This new release by Nero A Metà is in all respects a made in Italy product with vinyl production entrusted to PPM Italy, a specialized Italian factory that has guaranteed perfect quality of the printing and packaging of the record.

In fact, in addition to the audio, the packaging of the album has been taken care of down to the smallest detail with a perfect replica of the original artwork: hardback case with adhesive sticker applied to the cellophane of the seal which bears the barcode, numbering and legal wording and 180g vinyl contained in an anti-static bag to ensure maximum protection.

A project designed for audiophiles, enthusiasts or simple music users: everyone will be surprised by the quality of this LP, available only in a limited edition of 999 numbered copies.

THE HISTORY

It is a masterpiece album from the first to the last song, starting from I Say 'I Sto 'Ccà up to the “baiano” sketch Sotto 'O Sole passing through classics such as Quanno Chiove, Puozze Passà 'Nu Guaio, A Testa InGiù, I Want Di Più, Appocundria, A Me Me Piace 'O Blues, Alleria and Nun Me Scoccià.

It is impossible not to mention the Neapolitan musicians who contributed to the greatness of Nero A Metà: James Senese (sax), Agostino Marangolo (drums), Rosario Jermano (percussion), Gigi De Rienzo (bass), Ernesto Vitolo (keyboards) together with other guests like Enzo Avitabile, Aldo Mercurio, Mauro Spina and Karl Potter.

And finally Pino's own words explaining the title of the album as reported on his official website www.pinodaniele.com:

The title Nero A Metà, linked to a musical concept, was also inspired by a beautiful book that came out in the 70s, Nero Di Puglia which is the story of a black man born in the south, a bit like the story of my friend James Senese, it goes without saying that for me the most beautiful piece is Quanno Chiove, one of my first love songs… the air is so hot! There was a great desire to change things and music helped us a lot.”
