No Obligation: a space to find balance, rock and enjoy with friends.

Two years after debuting with Growing Up, The Linda Lindas They are ready to come back more rockers than ever. Before brand new No Obligationthe band made up of Eloise Wong, Bela Salazar, Lucia and Mila de la Garza They shared that their experience recording the second album was much more fun than the previous one.

We were more prepared, we felt more comfortable. The second time we were already aware of what would happen in the studio, so we were able to enjoy it more and experiment.”

No Obligation It is a statement of youth and meant a new way of making music together, since the inspiration was born to try duets, individual songs and even record the instruments live.

We recorded the last album during COVID-19, so we all wrote music separately and then put them together. Now we try to work more together and we were able to feed off each other's energy while we were in the studio.”

Although they are rockstars On stage, some members still have to fulfill their school responsibility. Maintaining a balance is not easy, although it is a task they have learned to cope with while experiencing both worlds.

sometimes in backstage We are doing our tasks, but for this tour We are missing out on many classes. β€œIt's a balance and we're still trying to figure it out, but so far we're making it work.”

When they are not in tour, The Linda Lindas They enjoy the ordinary things they do at home, contrary to the life of luxury that some believe they lead, but No Obligation made way to accompany Green Day and The Rolling Stones on stage.

There were a little nerves, but we weren't scared; you think 'wow'These are real musicians.' β€œIt was shocking because it was the biggest stage we had ever performed on and it was the first time we had wireless guitars.”

“Weird Al” Yankovic collaborated on the new album and the band hopes it will be the first of many. In fact, two artists they would love to collaborate with are The Go-Go's and The Blue Angels; It doesn't matter if it's a cover or if they undertake a new composition.

Composing music is very personal, you would have to know a person very well before writing with them. That's the reason we write well together, because we've known each other for a long time; So I think it would be a challenge for us.”

As the collaborations continue to come, The Linda Lindas was part of a very special project this 2024: the tribute to Stop Making Sense of Talking Heads. Interpret “Found a Job” was more terrifying than opening the concert to Mick Jagger and company.

We couldn't believe we were a part of it. β€œWe were more nervous than when we opened for Green Day and The Rolling Stones because we knew they were watching us on the side of the stage while we played their song.”

The Linda Lindas They would have recorded the entire tribute album to the New York band, but what they enjoy doing most covers and playing live, is having a unique space between them.

It's amazing that we have a band and can express ourselves through it. It is impressive that we have a group of friends, that is very important.”
