In a new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Dr. Charles Sophy claims that Dre, born Andre Young, hired him in 2018 to mediate his divorce from Nicole Young. The psychotherapist says he worked “ diligently, independently and fairly ” to help the couple resolve their differences and stopped communicating with the rapper once the divorce agreement was reached in late 2021.

The lawsuit focuses on civil harassment, threats of violence based on his sexual orientation and a court order prohibiting contact. He is seeking compensatory damages of at least $10 million and punitive damages to be decided at trial.
