Franz Ferdinand announces album and releases “Audacious”

Music news

A material that immerses us in the vertigo of our own fears, taking them to the limit with a provocative sound and a powerful message.

Franz Ferdinand returns with energy and new emotions with his next album, The Human Fearwhich will be available on January 10, 2025 via Domino Recording Company.

Produced by Mark Ralph and recorded in the studios AYR dand Scotland, This project becomes a liberating cry towards the deepest fears that human beings face. With 11 songs that explore the nature of humans and the power to overcome fear, the band offers their most powerful and courageous version.

Making this album has been one of the most life-affirming experiences in my life, but it's called The Human Fear. Fear reminds you that you are alive. I think we are all addicted in some way to the buzz it gives us. The way we respond to it shows that we are human. So here are a handful of songs that seek the emotion of being human through fears. Not that you would notice it on first listen,” Alex Kapranos said in a press release.

This news comes accompanied by the first single titled, ““Audacious”which reinforces this vision.

“It’s about having a bold response when you feel the fabric of existence unraveling around you. Being bold, being contrary. Standing over the edge of the eternity of nonexistence and saying yes! Whatever! Not today, thank you,” the band’s frontman commented.

Watch the video of “Audacious”, directed by Andy Knowles former collaborator of the band, in which we see some of life's darkest moments with a burst of fun when you look at things through a lens.
