An emotionally charged narrative.

The WAEVEthe British duo formed by Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougallhas released his new song “Broken Boys”. This single, which marks the band's return with an art rock sound in the style of Cabaret Voltaire, is a preview of their upcoming material, City Lights. “Broken Boys” stands out for its introspective and raw lyrics, which explore hopelessness and disillusionment in personal relationships. The song opens with a penetrating look through the eyes of the protagonists, evoking a sense of exhaustion and disillusionment. The lyrics reflect the pain of falling into destructive patterns and the desire to break free from emotional darkness, with lines such as “Falling into the arms of the wrong one” and “All broken boys end up the same.”

With this new single, The WAEVE continues to cement its unique musical identity, fusing elements of art rock with an emotionally charged narrative. Anticipation for the album City Lights is on the rise, promising more of the lyrical introspection and sonic experimentation that characterizes the band.
