Did you know? Tayc did a feat with an NBA champion

Music news

In 2021, Tayc made a featuring with a former star of the prestigious American basketball league, the NBA. The player is still active and alternates between studio and playground.

There is a fine line between basketball and music. Kobe Bryant, Damian Lillard and Allen Iverson are all legends of the orange ball who have taken the microphone at one point or another. While some have successfully made the transition from the parquet to concert halls, like Shaquille O'Neal who became a successful DJ, we often prefer to see a ball rather than a microphone in the hands of basketball players…

In France, the public mainly remembers Tony Parker's albums, his collaboration with Booba in particular. More recently, a former NBA star has collaborated with some of the most popular French artists. This is Serge Ibaka, a power forward who was a star of the Oklahoma Thunder until 2016. The player won the NBA championship in 2019, the most prestigious title, as part of the Toronto Raptors. He also won the silver medal with Spain at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Spanish-Congolese player, in addition to having been a star of the basketball league, wanted to diversify his activity very quickly. First in the form of a reality TV show called “I am Serge Ibaka” in 2019. But it is in music that the player, currently at Real Madrid, flourishes the most. In February 2021, the athlete unveiled “Champion”, a collaborative track with rapper Ninho. The same year, it was with the prince of afro-love, Tayc, that Serge Ibaka distinguished himself on the track “LEGGO”.

A title with Afro-Caribbean influences. The clip, filmed in a sublime villa in Cuba, has accumulated more than 5 million views on Youtube. These hits were added to the tracklist of the album “ART”, unveiled by the athlete in 2022.
