Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars together in the song Die With a Smile.
Bruno and I have a lot of respect for each other and we were talking about collaborating. I was finishing my album in Malibu and one night, after a long day, he asked me to come to his studio to listen to something he was working on.
It was around midnight when I arrived and I was amazed when I heard what he had started doing.
We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song. Bruno's talent is inexplicable. His musicianship and vision are next level. There is no one like him.
Mars adds:
Working with Gaga was an honor. She is an icon and she makes this song magical. I am so excited for everyone to hear it.”

The song is accompanied by a vintage-style video directed by Daniel Ramos and Mars himself. In it, he and Gaga perform in country attire in a room created as a hybrid between a 1950s recording studio and a TV show set.
Gaga teased the track on Instagram yesterday (August 15), sharing a photo of her and Mars dressed in blue and red.
Lady Gaga’s last single was “Hold My Hand,” the theme song for the 2022 action film Top Gun: Maverick. She has since performed at the 2023 Oscars and the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony, and revived her wildly popular Las Vegas Residency. Her sixth full-length album, Chromatica, was released in 2020.
On October 4, Gaga will appear as Harley Quinn in Todd Phillips' Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the title role.
