By performing covers of great French classics and his greatest hits, Slimane captivated the Saint-Denis audience during his pre-opening concert for the 2024 Olympic Games.
He was not invited to the grand opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games but he managed to wow the audience with a concert on the afternoon of Friday, July 26, 2024. A free open-air show supported by a symphony orchestra, in front of the magnificent decor of the Basilica of Saint-Denis. Slimane sang before the Olympic flame was passed to the last torchbearers, Pharrell Williams and Laetitia Casta.
Dressed all in white, the singer of “Mon Amour” performed live covers of French classics such as “Ma Gueule” by Johnny Hallyday and “Je suis malade” by Serge Lama. For this last song, Slimane invited Lara Fabian to join him on stage. The two colleagues from “The Voice Kids” offered the audience a unique and timeless moment thanks to their two incredible voices.

Slimane also shared all his emotion when singing his very intimate title in tribute to his daughter Esmeralda, “Des Millions de je t'aime” but also the hit song of the Eurovision, “Mon Amour”. He also shared a message of peace and solidarity thanks to his two flagship titles “Viens on s'aime” and his more recent single “RĂ©sister”.
