Interview: ANGELINA MANGO: I wanted to make a “poke” of my being

Interviews

“poké melodrama” is Angelina Mango’s recording debut, her first album of unreleased songs that collects and summarizes her different musical souls.

An important album for the young singer, in which her versatility is manifested with multiple musical facets that mix together like a real poké of sounds and rhythms.

In “poké melodrama” Angelina’s multifaceted nature emerges, her ability to experiment and her desire to celebrate the value of the complexity of each of us, appealing to all the peculiarities that characterize us.

This first album is the result of research and collaboration, created together with professionals capable of handling different sounds, to bring out the vastness of elements that live in each of us.

I'm very excited for this release. After a year of huge things happening to me I wanted to make a poke of my being.
Different things from each other but which ultimately make sense.
It's as if I had set my diary of this twelve months to music.
I know I've said everything and given everything without regrets and the result is the album!

“poké melodrama” photographs my different shades and my different identities.

I like to wear different genres and styles; from urban, to electronic sounds, from pop to rap or into the depths of drum and bass or Latin music.

There's a bit of everything in the album. It's my taste and I don't like to label myself in a single genre.

THE GUESTS

Angelina's versatility is evident starting from the collaborations and voices with which she has chosen to present her first work, which ranges between different genres and registers: from singer-songwriters with artists of the calibre of Marco Mengoniup to Bresh, passing through electronic and urban with Dani Faiv and Villabanks, for an album that track after track reveals new and unpublished aspects of the singer-songwriter.

It wasn't a choice. Everything came very spontaneously, as did the various sessions.
We exchanged messages on Instagram with many of them and then we met.

THE PRODUCERS

“poké melodrama” is an album that does not lack experimentation and the desire to find sound peculiarities through unusual encounters, in fact producers who are among the best in the Italian music scene contributed to the search for the perfect sound for this album.

I enjoyed working with different producers even if in the end the result is you! I like to follow every set of the album production and I followed the whole process.

The long list includes characters such as Dardust, Edwyn Roberts, Alessandro La Cava, Cripo, Edwyn Roberts, Shune, Andry the Hitmaker, Okgiorgio, Zef, Strage and Cripo. Antonio Cirigliano – Angelina Mango’s guitarist – and Giovanni Pallotti (EDD), who together with Angelina also took care of the artistic direction, also contributed to the production of the album.
